Getting your data into the KMS system is done
by importing 3 kinds of data in a pre-defined format into the application.
Data Type 1 – Weekly Organic Search Data – these are the various keywords and their related performance data, by search engine, that brought traffic and conversions via natural or organic search.
Data Type 2 – Weekly Paid Search Data – these are the various keywords, campaigns, ad groups and performance data for the major search engines.
Data Type 3 – Keywords and Keyword Classifications
We refer to these as “dictionary” data” – these
are the various types of classifications of the words themselves that allow you
to sort and segment data in the database. These often include priorities,
categories, personas etc. that you have already assigned to keywords. If you don’t have these, any lists of keywords
will be fine.
Data Basics
The following are specific items you need to know about how we handle data:
Time Periods – All data is imported on a weekly basis with week ending Sunday
File Formats – Unless using an API the basic file format is CS
Keyword Volume - as much as your account allows you to have.
Weekly Organic Search Data
The two primary sources for keywords and organic search data will be your analytics software and Google Webmaster Tools which is the primary source of the widest set of keyword variations.
CSV Export
Using a CSV export allows you to get the most critical data into the application quickly and easily and is the typical method we use for pilots since it requires no interaction with and 3rd party vendors or technical resources.
Sample Format
For organic we need the following data elements:
Option 1: Data file by Search Engine (all data in the file is for a single search engine)

· Conversion data is optional due to Not Provided many people do not have this data. Those that have it may have other conversions such as “downloads and “trials” or “leads and signups” allowing you to track both conversion elements. If you have it feel free to upload the data.
Google Search Console Search Performance Data
The most efficient way to get this data into the tool is to allow us to connect to your account. If you do not wish to give access immediately you can export the data and upload via our uploading function.
The export of the standard keyword data screen.
